Saturday June 8th will be our monthly recycled can pick up to benefit the fireworks fund.  Be sure to put your securely bagged cans out at the curb by 9:00 am.

This month we are also holding a canned food drive.  We feel it is important to give back to the community that supports our association so much.  All of us are very fortunate to live on this beautiful lake and have so much, well fed, jobs, retirement funds, a life well lived.  There are many less fortunate who can benefit from our generosity.  We are going to be collecting non-perishable food for a local food bank and those less fortunate.  Along with your recycled beverage cans, please set out a bag of canned goods, boxed mixes, or other non-perishable food items.  Remember this as you grocery shop and be prepared to reach out and help our local community.  Even if you don't have cans for us to recycle, please try to set out food for this drive.

Thank you in advance for your participation and generosity!

The annual 4th of July fireworks display will be shot from barges again this year, anchored near the Loon Lisle Nature Reserve SE end of lake. They will begin as the skies darken around 10:00 pm on Saturday, July 6th. We anticipate this years show to be as exciting as ever.  Since it will be shot off barges instead of land we ask that boats keep a safe distance from the barge which will be anchored about 50 feet from shore by the Loon Lisle Nature Reserve.  Also, after 4:00PM, we ask all wake boats to stay south of Brower's point for the safety of the workers and volunteers running fuses to the explosives for the fireworks show.

Thank you to all those who donate to help make the Loon Lake Fireworks Show great!  We also appreciate all the work done by the fireworks committee who helped make the transitions to the barges possible.

The Annual Poker Run will be held Saturday, July 20th on the lake.  If you're new here's how it works:

Come out either Friday night between 5:00-9:00pm or 8:30-9:30am Saturday and get registered.  Come to 7488 N. Brown Rd. by car or boat (it is deep in the Sycamore Bay between Sycamore and Maple Lanes). Registration is $5 per hand. Adults and kids are welcome.  There will be awesome prizes for all!

Saturday at 10:00am gather your friends and family in your boat.  Set out to find the 7 "floating" dealers out on the lake with you.  Pull up to their boat and you will draw a card from a deck.  Use all 7 cards you draw around the lake to form the best 5-card poker hand.  When you have all 7 cards, return to Sycamore Bay to turn in your envelope of cards.

Anchor or float in the bay with all the other boats and enjoy the sun and water while you wait on results to be tallied. Brats, hot dogs and chips will be available to buy to help support the LLPOA.  Winners announced and prizes awarded, all before 1:00pm "fast time".

This is a great way to meet new neighbors and party with everyone.  A great time is had by all.  See you on the lake!
